So I disappeared...

Having temporarily disappeared for a while, I'm back! I'm heading back to university (right now actually, I'm on the train!) and hope to resume my blogging status. I've been so busy (and lazy) because of going to work etc and plus I've not really had anything good to say!

Later I shall move into my new house, with seven others, some of whom are my friends and some of whom hopefully soon will be! I am going to be doing my best to prettify my room with lovely things so I shall set my photography skills upon that and post some pictures soon :)

I should also be spending far more time this year doing my actually university work... But I also have myself a part time job too...

Haul! : What I bought, 9th August 2012 - Tell me what you think!

Good Morning to you all! I keep meaning to post but just end up not having the time! So, I thought I'd show you what I got when I went shopping on Friday. But to start with, I'd just like to share with you what I just ate for breakfast; it was amazing!

Crumpets with natural yoghurt and berries

So, anyway, here goes!

Makeup 

Got a few really nice items in the way of makeup. I'm so happy with my purchases I can't even tell you!

2. Loreal Paris nail colour in shade 104, beige countess

5. MAC Eyeshadow in Patina
6. Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Romantic

My favourite out of those is definitely the lipstick; I'm in love with the colour, the packaging, how it looks when it's on, it's just amazing! The nail colour I am wearing is Beige Countess and I really like it. I thought it looked similar to Sand Tropez by Essie but it's got a slightly more pinky hue to it.

I'll arrange this into which shop I bought them in. As well as these I also got some vest tops and some tights but I thought they were a bit too boring to feature!

So there we have it! I'm really happy with all of my purchases. I can feel some outfit of the day posts coming up very soon! My bestest friend Lizzie is coming to stay with me tomorrow for a few days so I think I'll get some wear out of my new buys.

Questions For You All - Please Comment!

Hello again! I hope you are all feeling magical on this Tuesday evening! Well, I have some questions / general pontification to share with you all.
First up, can anyone recommend me a lipstick? I am pale and have dry lips. I want something that doesn't dry them out more. I'd quite like to try something high end-ish but I don't know what. I also don't know what colour! All suggestions very very welcome! I'll be shopping on Friday so I'm hoping to pick something up then - I'll feature whatever it is I get, on here!

Next, I'd like to try out something cheaper in the way of makeup and review it. Is there anything anyone would like me to purchase and review? I'm thinking mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, blush, or something like that. Again I'll probably make some impulse buys anyway (I usually do!).

Finally, YouTube... I'm wondering if I should start vlogging. I watch a few beauty vloggers on YouTube quite religiously and am getting tempted to start doing the same. But I'm scared no one would watch or be interested! Thoughts?

Diet / Weight loss : The Story So Far

Having been on a diet for about one and a half months I thought I would share with you what it is I am doing and how it is going. The weight isn't coming off amazingly fast but I'm definitely getting smaller! In the time I've been doing this I've gone from a UK size 14 to a UK size 10 ish. I now have three pairs of jeans that are a size 10 and although they are fairly tight on the legs, they definitely do up round the middle. I feel like I've eaten more since being on the diet which seems a bit counterintuitive! Here's a sort of sample day:

Breakfast: Porridge made with skimmed milk and a handful of mixed nuts and dried cranberries
Snack: Natural yoghurt with half a banana
Lunch: Ham sandwich (wholemeal bread and no butter or margarine)
Snack: CornThins and Marmite
Dinner: Two boiled eggs, basmati rice and brocoli 

I drink mainly water and green tea.

I've also been going to the gym 4 - 5 days a week for about an hour and a half. It's paying off and I definitely feel healthier! I'm going to have to go shopping on Friday as all of my clothes are too big for me! (apart from my new jeans of course!)

My new bargain jewellery: a (very small) haul

Whilst I get the chance, I thought I'd show you some jewellery that I picked up in the sale at Matalan. OK, not the classiest of shops but I thought these were some great finds! All three of these were a tiny £2 each!

The first thing I picked up was this ring. It is a little too big but I'm sure I'll find a way to wear it.

I really love it, it's OK quality and the detailing is beautiful. The colour is great too! It would be a nice addition to a minimal outfit.

I was in the mood for rings that day clearly, as next I found this one:

I usually go for silver jewellery as I think it looks more classy. OK, that stone isn't kidding anyone but I thought it looked quite fun and "bling"! I imagine I'll wear this one if I'm wearing something black and going out-y.

Last but not least is my absolute favourite. I thought it was so unusual and I don't own anything like it.

I can't wait to wear this bracelet - I think it would go well with pretty much anything and just adds a bit of interest.

For a grand total of £6 for the three, I think I did pretty well! I now need to wait until payday (next friday!) when I'll next go shopping. I need new clothes pretty desperately as all of mine are now too big! I'm already compiling a wish list which I will most definitely be sharing!

Mane n' Tail - A mini review

So in the past few months I've been looking into growing my hair longer and how to do it faster. I searched my beauty tip go-to website, YouTube, for help, and pretty much everything pointed me in the direction of this; Mane n' Tail. For those of you who don't know, Mane n' Tail is a haircare brand which was originally developed for horses (and hence the horsey name and packaging!). Then someone, somewhere, realised that actually, it made human hair lovely too. People seem to have also noticed that it makes your hair grow faster! It seems that in America you can pick it up in the shops but here in the UK you need to go online to find it.

Anyway, after a while deliberating, I decided I'd order some (I used Amazon.co.uk and found a seller) and I've been using it for about a week now. Well, I can't really tell you anything much about the hair growth (although I'm pretty sure it HAS grown a bit) but I can say it makes my hair feel amazing! I've abused my hair over the years with endless straightening and some dying so it needs a bit of love. With this shampoo it's so soft and has a nice healthy shine to it. I love the smell too! It's not very strong once you've washed out the shampoo but it has a nice soft scent.
Hair growth aside, I'd recommend this shampoo and conditioner on the basis of it making your hair soft and manageable. Hopefully it will also help with the hair growth thing because I did pay just over £10 for the two bottles, and I'm a bit tight when it comes to shampoo!
I shall keep you posted RE the acceleration of the growth of my currently annoyingly-lengthed hair!

Bits and Bobs!

Because I'm new to all of this, I'm not really all that sure where to start. There are things that I want to post, but I just need to decide what to do first!
I recently started using Mane 'n Tail shampoo and conditioner, so I must, must rave about that soon. I picked up some cheap and cute little bits of jewellery yesterday and I just generally want to get going with general rubbish chit chat!
Where to start... Maybe some followers would be good, but I'll get there I'm sure!

A New Blog For A New Me

So I suppose this is my first post on my new blog! I've been wanting to blog for a while now but I've never really plucked up the courage. I worried I'd not be interesting enough, or good looking enough, or funny enough, blah blah blah. But here I am, starting a blog, because here begins a brand new chapter of my life. To cut a long story short, I'm starting to look in the mirror and like what I see. I've  lost a bit of weight and started to grow my hair, and I generally just feel a bit more positive! So I thought why not share this with the world! (or the two people who may eventually accidentally read this!) I've been following vlogs on YouTube for some time now and all have been beauty and fashion related. I've been inspired by those confident enough to actually film themselves talking (I hate the sound of my voice so this is something I'd never do!).
Anyway, my journey is ongoing, much like my love for clothes and makeup! Hopefully there will be photos, general mindless chit-chat from my life, talk of products I've been using and maybe even the odd outfit of the day if I can find a way of taking a photograph of myself without standing in my bathroom!
